As the summer months put the financial pinch on the completion of The Mariachi Miracle, we urgently turn to crowd funding source GoFundMe to raise money for continued filming.

Principal photography for the film is set to conclude in mid-October, 2016 so that editing and post production can then begin. This will ensure that The Mariachi Miracle will be ready to screen in April, 2017, and the book of the same name released around the same time.

 

But to meet those deadlines we need the support of people like you to keep pace with the very busy schedule of remaining interviews, performances and school programs yet to be filmed, as well as the transcription of those interviews and all over the cataloging work that needs to be done to speed the eventual editing process.

 

Time is getting short and a hiccup in the pipeline at the point will make it difficult to keep pace.

 

I ask your help to keep us on track and help us tell this important story, unlocking not just the history and evolution of the mariachi movement but that movement’s impact on the social, political, educational, artistic and political fabric of the city of Tucson, Arizona.

 

It’s a story with implications for every youth mariachi in America and one that will help school and private programs around the country explain the power and importance of such programs at the local level.

 

Crowd funding campaigns such as this do more than raise money at critical times. They also show potential funding organizations and investors that there is an audience for this production.
